The Heinzelmann Electricity Works company emerged from the sawmill and the wood processing company Gebrüder Heinzelmann Holzbearbeitung. It has existed as a power station for over 110 years. During this time, it supplied the community of Kinzigtal with renewable energy from hydropower and biomass. Since the year 2000, this environmentally friendly way of generating energy has been supplemented by several photovoltaic systems installed on the roofs of the sawmill. Today the company focuses on the environmentally friendly production of electricity from all renewable energy sources such as water, photovoltaic systems and biomass.
Heinzelmann is a driving force on the road to a sustainable energy future. In 2001 we were awarded the German Solar Prize and described as a pioneering company for the solar age. We are constantly working on our vision: 100 percent energy from clean production. This video shows what we can achieve together if we decide to use renewable energy.
